On March 11, Daeryuk Aju helped launch the K-RMF (Korean Risk Management Framework) & ZT (Zero Trust) Convergence Forum. The firm founded the forum with the Defense Innovation Technology Security Association and News Today at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Yeouido, Seoul, and signed a memorandum of understanding to support the forum's development.
RMF stands for Risk Management Framework. Since 2013, the U.S. has required that RMF—embedding security requirements early in weapons-system development—be applied as a standard practice. Zero Trust is a security philosophy summarized as "Never trust, always verify." In recent years, the defense community has increasingly emphasized the need to link and integrate K-RMF with Zero Trust principles.
The memorandum was signed by Oh In-seo, lead attorney at Daeryuk Aju; Choi Young-chul, vice chairman of the Defense Innovation Technology Security Association; and Kang Nam-uk, CEO of News Today.
Under the agreement, Daeryuk Aju pledged to provide active legal counsel on law, institutional measures and regulatory responses related to K-RMF and Zero Trust. The firm also committed to collaborate on policy and strategy research, workforce development, and education and seminar programs.
At the forum's launch seminar, Choi Young-chul, CEO of SGA Solutions, delivered the keynote address, "K-RMF and Zero Trust Convergence Strategy," to roughly 100 attendees from government, the defense sector and the media.
The seminar was hosted by Rep. Yoo Yong-won of the People Power Party and was sponsored by the Ministry of National Defense, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, and the Korea Defense Industry Promotion Association.
