Daejeon University's Department of Military Studies and NSHC signed an MOU to collaborate on joint research and workforce development in artificial intelligence–enabled manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T), cyber and information security, security solutions, cyber-weapons research, and the safety and security of physical AI systems.

According to Daejeon University on the 22nd, the agreement aims to build a linked ecosystem across government, industry, the military, academia and research institutes; develop talent; accelerate R&D and commercialization; and establish a foundation for advances in defense and science and technology.

Under the MOU, the two organizations will pursue joint research, co-host seminars and training, offer field-learning experiences, expand information sharing, and undertake other collaborative projects to advance future military technologies — including AI-enabled MUM-T, drones, advanced air mobility (AAM), and extended reality (XR) — while training specialized defense personnel. They also agreed to maintain continuous information exchange, give priority to joint research projects, and jointly participate in defense development studies to strengthen practical cooperation. Daejeon University's Institute for International Military and Security Studies will also participate.

Daejeon University said the agreement will reinforce education and research that integrate AI-based manned-unmanned systems with cybersecurity capabilities. The university expects the partnership to help train the next generation of defense professionals and to foster a defense-innovation ecosystem.

NSHC said it will expand cooperation in joint research, education, and consulting, leveraging its security expertise and industry experience.
