Evacuations continue in Lebanon and Iraq, both within the Middle East conflict’s zone of influence. To date, about 1,500 South Korean nationals have been evacuated.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on March 30 that, with direct support from the ministry, roughly 1,500 Koreans have been evacuated to neighboring countries or repatriated from the region.

It added that local embassies in Lebanon and Iraq, both affected by the fighting, are assisting citizens and South Korean company personnel with departures.

The ministry said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide evacuation assistance as needed.
