On the 7th, TVING hosted a production press conference for the TVING original Yumi's Cells Season 3 (written by Song Jae-jung and Kim Kyung-ran, directed by Lee Sang-yeob) at The Link Seoul in Guro District, Seoul. Director Lee Sang-yeob and actors Kim Go-eun and Kim Jae-won attended the event.
Yumi's Cells Season 3 follows Yumi (Kim Go-eun), now a successful writer, whose quiet life is upended when an unexpected newcomer arrives — setting off moments of laughter, heartbreak and romance. Expectations are high: Kim Go-eun returns as the title character, breakout actor Kim Jae-won joins the cast, and director Lee Sang-yeob reunites with writer Song Jae-jung.
Kim Jae-won plays Sun-rok, a production PD in Julie Publishing's editorial department who, despite a pleasant face, isn’t shy about speaking blunt truths. Introducing the role, he said, "Sun-rok is cool-headed, methodical and very principled when he works." He added, "I'm honored to join Yumi's Cells. I hadn't had many chances to work with Kim Go-eun before, so she made it easy to approach her from the start. I learned a lot on set. I trusted her completely and gave my all during filming."
He noted that the 10-year age gap between them never felt significant. "It could have been awkward, but it never was," he said. "She's a generous, graceful senior who even treated me to meals, and she’s a consummate professional."
He also addressed Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Jin-young, who appeared opposite Kim Go-eun in earlier seasons, joking, "In the end, I'll look after Writer Yumi. I'll take good care of her," which drew laughter from the audience.
Yumi's Cells Season 3 premieres on the 13th. TVING will release two episodes every Monday at 6:00 PM exclusively, and tvN will air one episode each Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM.
