[Herald Economy=Reporter Na Eun-jung] The film 'The Man Who Lives with the King' surpassed 12 million admissions on March 11, its 36th day in release.

Distributor Showbox announced on social media that 'The Man Who Lives with the King' has exceeded 12 million admissions, adding, "We sincerely thank all the audiences who came to see 'Wangsa-nam.'"

The milestone pushes the film past 'Pamyo' (11.91 million), 2024's top-grossing title, and makes it the 20th film in Korean cinema history to surpass 12 million admissions.

Released on Feb. 4, the film reached 10 million admissions on March 6 — its 31st day in theaters — joining the so-called "10-million" club. It is the first movie in roughly two years to hit that mark since 'Pamyo' and 'The Outlaws 4.'

The momentum has continued since crossing 10 million: on the weekday of the 9th the film drew about 203,000 viewers, and the previous day it attracted roughly 177,000, keeping its box-office surge alive.

Set in the Joseon era, 'The Man Who Lives with the King' follows King Danjong as he forges friendships with villagers while exiled at Cheongnyeongpo in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province. Park Ji‑hoon stars as Danjong, Yu Hae‑jin plays the village head, and Jang Hang‑jun directed the film.
