[Go Nari, EPN Enpinow] In SBS’s Friday–Saturday drama Shin I-rang Law Office, Yoo Yeon-seok finds himself plunged into an increasingly unpredictable crisis.
In episode 5, airing on the 27th, Yoo — who plays Shin I-rang — takes on a new case and delivers a gripping, fully committed performance.
This installment casts brilliant scientist Jeon Sang-ho as the client, and Shin I-rang becomes intensely possessed by him. The firm’s whiteboard fills with dense equations, vividly revealing Jeon’s exceptional intellect.
The case escalates when investigators name Jeon’s wife, Kim Soo-jung, as a suspect, exposing a volatile rift between the couple. Footage of Jeon’s memories shows his wife crying as she pushes him, and pills scattered at her feet as she screams — details that hint at a profound fracture in their relationship.
Guided by the deceased, Shin I-rang is led deep into the woods to the site where the body was abandoned. Father Mateo warns, "Seeing your own corpse will unnerve you," and Shin I-rang does indeed come face-to-face with Jeon Sang-ho’s cold, lifeless body, becoming overwhelmed by the dead man’s emotions. A scene shows him shouting, "Why did you kill me?!", unleashing a level of fury and anguish the show has not yet revealed.
So far, the dead have been able to recall fragments of their lives, but reconstructing the precise circumstances of their deaths has remained difficult. With the story taking unexpected turns, viewers are left wondering what truth drove the scientist to his death — and whether Shin I-rang can control his rage long enough to find the clues that will expose it.
