Secrets of ‘21st Century Grand Lady’: What Led to the Shocking Death of King Lee Hwan?

[TV Daily's Choi Hana] In MBC's Friday–Saturday drama '21st Century Great Military Wife,' Gong Seung-yeon's Yoon I-rang lashes out at her husband, King Ihwan (Sung Joon).

Episode 2, which aired on the night of the 11th, pulled back the curtain on the mystery surrounding the former king Ihwan's death.

At one point, Ihwan considered abdicating in favor of his younger brother, Prince I-an, saying the burden of the throne had left him in deep emotional distress.

Yoon I-rang (Gong Seung-yeon), then queen, exploded, asking, \"Are you out of your mind?\" Ihwan admitted he was tormented.

Yoon I-rang shot back that he'd be better off dead if it was for the crown prince's sake. She then burned the document outlining the abdication and walked away.

Ihwan later died in an apparent accident. When Prince I-an arrived at the scene, he was seen searching for Crown Prince Lee Yoon (Kim Eun-ho), a development that drew attention.
