[EPN NPinow reporter Go Nari] Canadian-born actress Carrie Fleming has died at 51, EPN NPinow reports.

On March 23 (U.S. time), entertainment outlets said Fleming died on Feb. 26 after complications during treatment for breast cancer.

Fleming was best known for her memorable turn as Karen Singer, the wife of Bobby Singer, on the long-running U.S. series Supernatural.

Jim Beaver, who portrayed Bobby Singer, paid tribute, saying, “She was full of energy and warmth, and her lovely smile seemed like it would never fade.”

Supernatural follows brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, who lost their mother in a mysterious incident, as they battle a range of supernatural threats.

Over its run, the series expanded from monster-of-the-week stories to arcs involving demons, legends and conflicts with angels. The arrival of the angel Castiel broadened the show's scope even further.

The show won fans by moving beyond simple monster hunting to explore the brothers’ deepening bond, their sacrifices and recurring questions of life and death.

Fleming also appeared as Candy Baker on iZombie and starred in the film Jennifer.

She had been in a relationship with actor Cadmon Somers and is survived by her daughter, Madeline Rose.
