The film 'Final Investigation' centers on Jae-hyuk, a detective exiled to a rural post who is handed one last shot at redemption. To identify the real killer in a murder case with two suspects, he pairs up with rookie detective Jung-ho and heads back to Seoul for a high-stakes, do-or-die probe.
Jung Ga-ram’s character, Jung-ho, is a third-generation chaebol influencer: wealthy, photogenic and sharp-minded. After wagering with netizens, he impulsively sat for the police exam—and shockingly finished at the top. He announces his first day on the job in a sports car, and the grizzled veteran detective Jae-hyuk (Bae Seong-woo) is assigned as his field mentor. Jung-ho wants to conduct investigations with style, while Jae-hyuk relies on hard-earned instincts and luck; their constant clashes and mismatched approaches drive the film’s combustible chemistry and tension.
Jung Ga-ram described 'Final Investigation' as a buddy-cop picture that injects fresh ingredients into the familiar formula.
Director Park Cheol-hwan praised Jung’s commitment—he trained in capoeira for six months—and said the actor can convincingly embody everything from the direct, confident energy of today’s youth to the earnest vulnerability of a rookie detective.
'Final Investigation' opens in theaters nationwide on April 2.
