[EPN Enpinow reporter Go Nari] In MBC's daily drama The First Man, Cha Hwa-young's scheme unravels, triggering a tense reversal.
In the episode that aired on April 3, Oh Jang-mi and Kang Baek-ho intensified their bid for revenge against Cha Hwa-young. While at the police station, a call from Cha Hwa-young forced them to bring Oh Bok-gil's cellphone and memory card to a designated meeting point.
Meanwhile, Kang Baek-ho used Oh Tae-pyung as a decoy, then disguised himself as a delivery driver to tail Oh Jang-mi.
Elsewhere, Jin Hong-ju and Yeom San-wol, acting on Cha Hwa-young's orders, pulled Jung Sook-hee out of a banchan (Korean side-dish) shop, where accomplices who had been lying in wait then abducted her. Although Jin and Yeom tried to distance themselves from the crime, they were visibly shaken.
Ultimately, Cha Hwa-young's henchmen captured Oh Jang-mi and brought her to the location where Jung Sook-hee was being held. On arriving, Cha Hwa-young broke her promise and threatened both women's lives.
At that moment, Kang Baek-ho staged a sudden rescue. Oh Jang-mi used a smartphone app to trigger a police siren and managed to escape. Before fleeing, she warned Cha Hwa-young: "I'll chase you to the end."
Unbeknownst to Cha Hwa-young, Oh Jang-mi and Kang Baek-ho had already handed over fake evidence while hiding the real proof elsewhere. Believing the incriminating items had been destroyed, Cha Hwa-young let her guard down.
The pair then rushed to the police station and submitted the authentic evidence, prompting authorities to reopen the investigation.
Next, Oh Jang-mi lured Kang Jun-ho to the family home to stage the closing scene. When Kang Jun-ho and the police entered, officers announced an emergency arrest for Cha Hwa-young on suspicion of Oh Bok-gil's murder. Cha Hwa-young was handcuffed and led away in front of Kang Jun-ho and other family members.
The episode has left viewers closely watching how alliances and rivalries will shift and how the revenge arc will continue to unfold.
