'Inside Men,' the highest-grossing R-rated film in Korean history, earned both critical and commercial acclaim, taking home Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Planning at the 53rd Daejong Film Awards, and Best Film at the 37th Blue Dragon Film Awards. The story traces the origins of a sprawling cartel born from the collusion of media, capital and political power in the late 1980s.
The project will be helmed by directors Kim Min-beom—who served as assistant director on 'Seoul's Spring' and 'The Flu'—and Kim Jin-seok, who adapted the Disney+ original series 'Made in Korea' and worked as assistant director on 'Harbin,' 'The Man Standing Next' and 'Veteran.' Lee Ki-cheol, the screenwriter behind 'The Thieves,' 'Assassination' and 'Harbin,' will write the screenplay, with Kim Hyo-seok ('Yadang') handling the adaptation. The team promises a tightly plotted, fast-moving narrative aimed at keeping audiences fully engaged.
The production entered pre-production last year and has been preparing steadily. Parts 1 and 2 are slated to be shot back-to-back in 2026, with Part 3 planned for 2027. Producers say they will begin principal photography in the first half of 2026 after finalizing the main cast.
The film is being produced by HYBE MediaCorp, a company known for bold, high-quality projects including 'Seoul's Spring,' 'Harbin,' 'Deliver Us from Evil,' 'The Man Standing Next' and the Disney+ original series 'Made in Korea.'
Co-producer SLL—behind the box-office franchise 'The Outlaws,' the Netflix hit 'All of Us Are Dead,' and the drama 'The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family'—brings experience across theatrical releases, streaming and television.
Producers are wrapping up key casting and remain in pre-production, targeting a 2026 shoot start.
