By Go Nari, EPN Enpinau — tvN’s drama 'Siren' picked up momentum in episode 9, accelerating its investigation and tightening the focus on the true perpetrator, keeping viewers on edge.

In the March 30 episode, Han Seol-a intentionally kept her distance to protect Cha Woo-seok, but the pair unexpectedly crossed paths again in an unlikely place.

To clear Han Seol-a—who had been arrested on suspicion of killing Baek Jun-beom—Cha Woo-seok told investigators that scene evidence pointed to a third party. The disclosure put both of them in immediate danger, but Han Seol-a was soon released from police custody.

After witnessing the death of a resurfaced ex-lover, Han Seol-a was thrown into turmoil and found herself reflecting on the comfort and support Cha Woo-seok had offered. With the real culprit still at large, she worried for Cha’s safety but kept her feelings guarded and offered a quiet farewell.

Meanwhile, Han Seol-a returned to Royal Auction and launched an investigation into a list of nominee-held properties linked to Chairwoman Kim Sun-ae. The move, rooted in her father’s past wrongful forgery conviction, signaled a new direction in her quest for the truth.

Around the same time, skeptical about how art insurance payouts were being handled, Cha Woo-seok began tracking possible links between Royal Auction and Joo Hyun-su. With help from Dr. Shin, Cha located Joo and uncovered a key clue at a site tied to a suspicious artwork fire. Joo’s arrival quickly escalated the situation.

In the ensuing confrontation, Han Seol-a concealed Cha Woo-seok, raising the stakes and intensifying questions about the scope of the alleged art insurance fraud.

Bolstered by strong performances from the cast, the episode drew a nationwide household average of 4.8%, peaking at 5.9%. In the Seoul metropolitan area it averaged 4.5% and peaked at 5.8%, marking the show’s ninth consecutive win in its time slot. Ratings climbed roughly one percentage point from the previous episode, stoking anticipation for the back half of the season.
