In the episode broadcast on the 11th of MBC's 21st Century Daegunbuin, viewers watched Ian (Byun Woo-seok) and Seong Hee-joo (IU) become embroiled in a hotel scandal.

That day, Ian attends a corporate event. Although he was on vacation, Lee Yoon (Kim Eun-ho) — who had come alone — asked Ian to stop by.

Having missed sleep the night before, Ian’s condition deteriorates sharply after the event, and he ends up spending the night at a downtown hotel. When his health worsens, Choi Hyun (Yoo Su-bin) buys medicine and urges him to go to the Royal Hospital. Ian resists, saying the hospital is crowded with the Queen Consort’s people and he doesn’t want to go.

After accepting an award at the corporate event, Seong Hee-joo goes to the hotel massage parlor where Ian is staying and runs into Choi Hyun in the hallway. Learning Ian is unwell, she calls her personal doctor to treat him.

Later, Seong Hee-joo brings sandwiches and sits with Choi Hyun, who hasn’t eaten. At that moment, Yoon I-rang (Gong Seung-yeon) bursts into the hotel, suspecting Ian is there because of a woman.

Seong Hee-joo tries to hide from Yoon I-rang’s sudden arrival, but she’s exposed when she leaves her handbag on the sofa.

The next day, photos of Seong Hee-joo and Ian entering the hotel separately circulate, igniting dating rumors. Ian summons Seong Hee-joo to his private residence and tells her, “You’ve taken the nation’s arrows because of me. If you want anything, I’ll give it to you.”

Seong Hee-joo responds by proposing marriage. “I have a foolish older brother,” she says. “If I make even the smallest mistake, they try to replace me with him. Is it because he’s the son? Because he’s the heir? Because he married into a noble family? I’m trying to raise my status a little.”

Ian asks bluntly, “Are you saying you’ll marry me just for a titular rank?” She answers, “I’ve missed dozens of opportunities because I didn’t even have that nominal status.”

Ian warns her, “Prepare to become the nation’s Grand Lady. You’ll be facing the whole country.”
