The forum is intended to gather feedback on the committee’s proposed follow-up actions for the three laws—the Broadcasting Act, the Broadcasting Culture Promotion Act and the Korea Educational Broadcasting System Act—that were reported to the plenary session on the 10th. The committee said it will refine detailed, field-ready standards and clarify how those standards will be enforced.

Discussion will center on the committee’s proposal, which is currently under legislative and administrative notice. Panelists will examine the system’s design, flag issues likely to arise during implementation and consider improvements to boost the measures’ effectiveness.

Professor Choi Young-muk of Sungkonghoe University’s Department of Media Content Convergence will moderate. Jang Dae-ho, acting director of the committee’s Broadcasting Policy Bureau, will present the proposal’s direction and background. Participants in the discussion include Professor Kwon Hyung-dun (Kongju National University), Professor Heo Chan-haeng (Konkuk University), Kang Yoon-gi, president of the Korean PD Association, and Kim Dong-won, policy director of the National Union of Media Workers.

The committee will review comments submitted during the forum and throughout the legislative and administrative notice period, then finalize follow-up measures after internal deliberations among the commissioners.
