(The CEN News / Reporter Seo Hye-bin) The Jeonju International Film Festival will mount a special program honoring the late actor Ahn Sung-ki.
On the 26th, the festival’s organizing committee announced that the tribute will be part of the 27th edition. Co-presented with the Korean Film Archive, the series is titled "Meeting a Slightly Unfamiliar Ahn Sung-ki."
The program will screen seven films featuring Ahn Sung-ki: Our Joyful Youth; It's Tough Being a Man; Sleeping Man; The Stranger; Fair Love; Broken Arrow; and Love in the Film Era.
The organizing committee said it curated the series to ensure Ahn Sung-ki is remembered for elevating Korean cinema through his numerous roles in independent and art-house films.
The 27th Jeonju International Film Festival runs April 29–May 8 across Jeonju’s Film Street and other city venues.
