[Vegan News = Reporter Trainee Ji-young Choi] Yongin City announced on the 27th that the 3rd Senior Model Fashion Show celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Cheoin Senior Welfare Center took place at the Yongin Indoor Gymnasium on the 26th.

The celebration welcomed center patrons and local residents. It opened with a lively pre-show by the Baekok Cultural Arts Troupe, followed by the first runway segment, a commemorative ceremony with congratulatory performances, and a second fashion segment.

The first segment leaned into staples like leather, fur, and denim, while the second embraced full glamour with dresses and tuxedos.

Mayor Sang-il Lee, a representative of the seniors, high school students, and organization officials also stepped onto the runway, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Donning a durumagi, a traditional Korean overcoat, Mayor Lee walked the runway alongside the senior models.

“I sincerely congratulate the Cheoin Senior Welfare Center on its 20th anniversary. I understand the center runs about 270 programs — more than is typical even in developed countries like the United States. Our country offers a truly diverse array of programs for seniors,” he said. “We will continue to expand Yongin’s welfare services so seniors can enjoy healthy lives through a wide range of activities at the center.”

Since opening in 2005, the Cheoin Senior Welfare Center has become a leading local senior facility, welcoming an average of 3,500 visitors a day. Programs such as the Senior Model Academy, the Senior Carbon Neutrality Center, and the YIS broadcasting station support seniors’ self-development and their participation in community life.
