French luxury house Dior will bring Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams to Seoul’s iconic Dongdaemun Design Plaza from April 19 through July 13.
The exhibition launched at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and has since traveled to London, Shanghai, Chengdu, New York, Doha, Tokyo and Riyadh. Curated by Florence Müller and realized by Shohei Shigematsu, a partner at the global architecture firm OMA, the immersive installation celebrates more than 75 years of creative energy at the House of Dior.
Opening with the groundbreaking New Look and its contemporary reinterpretations, the show traces Dior’s journey from its founding to the present. It offers fresh perspectives on themes dear to the House—Christian Dior’s devotion to flowers and gardens, the ateliers’ extraordinary craftsmanship, and tributes to balls and grand celebrations. Haute couture creations and archival documents are presented alongside works by Korean artists including Kim Hyun-joo, Soo Sunny Park and Zadie Xa, weaving a distinctive narrative.
For the first time, a dedicated space for Lady Dior showcases captivating reinterpretations by prominent Korean artists. The gallery brings together nine pieces from the Dior Lady Art project and 17 works created under the Lady Dior As Seen By concept, deepening the bond between the House of Dior and Korea.
Christian Dior’s perfume legacy and passion for the arts live on in the house’s iconic fragrance bottles, portraits and perfume-related archives, and in memorable gowns—such as those associated with Rihanna for J’adore and Natalie Portman for Miss Dior.
