Handsome’s men’s casual label, System Homme, is staking its claim on the global stage with a permanent store at France’s iconic Galeries Lafayette.
Handsome, a fashion specialist under the Hyundai Department Store Group, announced on the 7th that System Homme opened a permanent boutique on February 6th on the 2nd floor of the men’s department at Galeries Lafayette’s Paris Haussmann flagship.
Galeries Lafayette is France’s largest department store chain with a 130-year history. Its Haussmann flagship—home to luxury houses and buzzy designer names from around the world—draws about 37 million visitors each year and is widely regarded as a Parisian landmark.
The men’s 2nd floor, in particular, targets the next-generation luxury customer: brands there break the mold of traditional menswear and embrace daring, fashion-forward looks. System Homme’s new permanent space sits alongside French menswear names like Officine Générale and A.P.C.
A Handsome representative noted that Galeries Lafayette is known for its pride in local brands and its rigorous selection process. Being placed next to established local labels on the men’s 2nd floor signals that System Homme is being recognized as a brand on equal footing.
The new permanent store won’t simply mirror the pieces sold in Korea. Instead, it will spotlight a global collection tailored to European tastes, featuring bolder materials and more adventurous designs.

Industry observers view System Homme’s entry into Galeries Lafayette as the payoff for Handsome’s 40-plus years of heritage and its long-running strategy of prioritizing design and quality as it pushes to become a global fashion brand.
In fact, Handsome opened its Tom Greyhound concept store in Paris back in 2014, and it’s the only Korean fashion company to have participated in Paris Fashion Week for 14 consecutive shows since 2019—part of a decade-long effort to raise global awareness.
More recently, Handsome converted the Tom Greyhound Paris location into System’s first global flagship, using it to introduce the label to new European customers and international buyers.
Handsome plans to use the existing System flagship in Paris’s Le Marais district and the new System Homme store as core hubs for expanding its overseas business.
The Le Marais flagship will continue to act as a showroom that communicates Handsome’s brand identity to overseas buyers and local fashion insiders, while the high-traffic Galeries Lafayette location is expected to serve as a retail hub that boosts mainstream recognition and drives actual sales.
A Handsome representative said the Galeries Lafayette opening is a decisive opportunity to firmly imprint System Homme’s product strength and marketability on international buyers and customers. They added that Handsome will keep pushing K-fashion’s presence in Europe by focusing on distinctive design and impeccable craftsmanship.
