On the 26th, E-Land Retail announced it will relaunch its fashion label NC Basic as a retailer-operated SPA—a model that integrates manufacturing and distribution to deliver fast, affordable fashion.

The company says it will sharpen NC Basic’s value proposition, expand category offerings and store footprints, and aggressively target the retailer-operated SPA market.

Launched in September 2023, NC Basic will reopen its first concept store on the first floor of NC Songpa on the 1st of next month after a renovation. The space spans 198㎡ (about 2,131 sq ft).

Branded as "Urban Basic Wear," the line broadens its apparel mix and adds innerwear, loungewear and accessories, rolling out roughly 130 items.

E-Land’s retailer-operated SPA approach means the company plans and produces garments in-house and sells them through its own channels, allowing for sharper prices and stronger control over the supply chain.

Through its fashion arm, E-Land operates about 30 women’s, men’s, children’s and casual brands, developing and manufacturing clothing via overseas sourcing partners and its own factories.

While keeping price points reasonable, the company diversified global sourcing to secure higher-end materials that directly affect quality.

Global fabric sourcing teams worked with A-grade mills across Korea, Shanghai and Guangzhou in China, Vietnam, Bangladesh and India, overseeing everything from yarn to production and finishing. They also sourced materials used by well-known international brands.

Standouts for the S/S '25 season include a Premium Linen Shirt and Premium Linen Pants.

By blending 100% European linen with cotton and viscose, they created shirts that resist wrinkling while feeling premium. To make this happen, E-Land partnered with more than 20 A-grade mills that specialize in European linen to co-develop fabrics, then produced the garments at its India manufacturing unit, ELAND APPAREL LTD.

About 80% of NC Basic’s assortment is priced under 30,000 KRW (approximately $22.50) to keep the brand accessible.

Denim is the bestseller. Offered in fits from straight to tapered and bootcut, denim pieces are priced at 19,900 KRW (approximately $14.93) and 29,900 KRW (approximately $22.43)—about half the price of comparable domestic and global SPA-brand denim. Last year, the label sold roughly 150,000 denim units.
