On the 23rd, Harper’s Bazaar magazine’s YouTube channel uploaded a video titled The Fashion History of Actress Jeon Jong-seo, Beautiful in Anything She Wears! What's the Story Behind Her Viral Looks?
Jeon revisited the outfits that grabbed headlines. Looking back at her 2018 Cannes photocall photos, she admitted, “I’ve learned that that kind of yellow doesn’t flatter me. Back then I wore whatever my stylist handed me—if she’d told me to wear that now, I’d probably ask, ‘Don’t you have anything else?’ Still, there’s a certain freshness to that moment.”
She also talked about the selfie she posted on social media in October 2023. “People tell me not to take selfies in public—they say I’m terrible at them. I’ve heard so often that mirror selfies are actually better,” she said. “Otherwise, I post photos someone else took, or images that someone has given the thumbs-up to.”
As for the viral first-pitch photo, Jeon said, “I’d always wanted to try throwing a ceremonial first pitch, so I went for it. I didn’t expect it to blow up. The players practiced with me—there’s a custom of pitching and then heading back in. They guided me well, so I felt prepared.”
About last year’s gray dress, she explained, “My stylist and I spent a lot of time deciding which direction to take. We did fittings, tried different looks, and experimented. Last year felt like a period of exploration—finding my style and seeing how the public responds. Do I agree it was a ‘breakout’ day? I’m not sure,” she said with a laugh.
