Tailored clothing for women with disabilities is gaining attention as a fresh fashion movement in Gyeonggi Province. At the \"2025 Custom Clothing Presentation and Fashion Show for Women with Disabilities\" on the 8th, held in the first-floor lobby of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office, designers unveiled adaptive pieces created to solve everyday challenges—and the response was strong.

The event was organized by the Naeil-eul Yeoneun Meotjin Yeoseong Gyeonggi Association and the Yeondae Leaders Forum Volunteer Group. Gyeonggi Provincial Assemblymember Park Jae-yong (Democratic Party, proportional representative, Health and Welfare Committee) attended and pledged active support for tailored clothing initiatives for women with disabilities. Park said, \"Clothing is part of our everyday life. Yet women with disabilities often face serious inconveniences from a single garment. Daily life should bring happiness. The Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly will work to help women with disabilities enjoy confident, stylish days through customized clothing.\"

The program was emceed by disability rights instructor and broadcaster Kim Chun-bong. Huh Hye-sook, president of the Naeil-eul Yeoneun Meotjin Yeoseong Central Association, and Lee Yeon-bun, chairwoman of the Yeondae Leaders Forum Volunteer Group, attended as representatives of the organizers. Also present were Health and Welfare Committee members Park Jae-yong and Jeong Kyung-ja, Construction and Transportation Committee member Park Ok-bun, Kim Hoon, director of the Welfare Bureau at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office, and Lee Young-jae, president of the Gyeonggi Welfare Organizations Federation. Choi Jong-hyun, leader of the Democratic Party faction in the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly, and Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun sent congratulatory video messages.

This was the first event of its kind hosted by a disability organization in Gyeonggi Province, showcasing made-to-measure garments for women who struggle with ready-to-wear clothing. \"Today's event is especially meaningful because every piece is one of a kind,\" Park said. \"I deeply thank everyone who started at dawn to prepare the presentations and the fashion show.\" Organizers expect these efforts to improve quality of life for women with disabilities and help change public perceptions.
