With forecasts calling for a deep freeze in the first week of December—temperatures expected to dip to about 18°F (−8°C)—the early-winter chill has officially arrived. As wind chills tumble, shoppers are snapping up everything from lightweight, cozy layers to insulated, windproof down pieces. That pattern was already evident in Kolon FnC’s menswear outerwear sales during the third week of November.

Series, the menswear label, is seeing particular buzz around its signature Air Trooper. Inspired by the U.S. Air Force N3B parka, this down jumper uses 9010 goose down fill (90% down, 10% feather) and an ultra-light down bag, delivering serious warmth without the weight. Strong product appeal helped the Air Trooper post a 300% year-over-year sales increase, depleting stock and prompting a reorder.

Henry Cotton’s outerwear, which modernizes classic looks, is also getting a warm reception. The Fisherman Short Down Parka draws from 1960s–70s vintage wading jackets and mountain parkas. It features a relaxed silhouette, roomy pockets and square quilting. Available in green, red and navy, the navy option now makes up 38% of cumulative sales and continues to gain traction.

Another standout is the wool boucle padded peacoat, a collaboration between Henry Cotton’s Fly Fishing Club collection and apparel brand Document. The piece has reached a cumulative sales rate of 85.7% and continues to enjoy steady demand.

French high-end streetwear label Drôle de Monsieur is turning heads with pieces that channel the brand’s signature retro vibe. The Le Manteau Pinstripes is an all-wool coat with a pinstripe pattern and a white knit collar that pops against the black body. It has recorded a cumulative sales rate of 42% and maintains steady sales.

A Kolon FnC spokesperson said, “As we move into early winter, demand has risen across the board—from lightweight layering items to down outerwear that offers insulation and windproofing. We expect demand for men’s outerwear to expand further in December when the deep cold sets in.”
