Keimyung College (President Park Seung-ho) announced on the 3rd that its Department of Fashion Design and E-commerce recently hosted the new brand concept exhibition HESYCHIA (헤시키아) at Casa Bundo (2F) in Daebong-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu.

HESYCHIA—named for tranquil silence—featured student collections of athleisure and loungewear that explore inner calm and rest in modern life.

Presented as part of the RISE initiative, the exhibition went beyond a typical graduation showcase to highlight the outcomes of industry-academia collaboration with local fashion companies.

The department teamed up with local textile and fashion firm Seolbogwang International and online retailer Kkamjangori to present a range of fashion‑tech projects.

In collaboration with Seolbogwang International, students worked on brand identity (BI) development, graphic-print designs, and prototypes for park-golf apparel. They also revealed a shirt prototype that applied student-created digital patterns to match the concept of the golf-wear brand Graphimo.

To ease the cost and staffing pressures of underwear model shoots, the team proposed AI-driven virtual fitting, editorial and video production, and product curation approaches to Kkamjangori—demonstrating measurable gains in operational efficiency and cost savings for the company.

All of these collaborations were advanced through this year’s RISE Business Technical Advisory Program.

Responding to industry needs, the department provided fashion‑tech support—developing digital patterns, AI virtual-model fitting, product development, and video content production—helping local fashion firms accelerate digital transformation (DX) and build AI capabilities.

Notably, the Graphimo project with Seolbogwang International produced tangible results: three students directly developed digital patterns that were turned into actual shirts. The Kkamjangori project drew attention as a practical AI application that addressed real challenges faced by small and medium-sized fashion companies.

“Digital convergence skills—such as digital patterning, 3D simulation, and AI-based styling—are becoming essential in the fashion industry,” said Jang Kyung-hye, head of the Department of Fashion Design and E-commerce. “Keimyung College will strengthen students’ hands-on skills through an industry-aligned curriculum and actively support local fashion companies’ DX and AI transitions.”

Going forward, the department plans to expand collaborations with local fashion companies to deepen digital fashion‑tech product development and further solidify an industry-focused education model.
