South Chungcheong Province has kicked off a campaign to develop fresh tourism content ahead of the 2025–2026 Visit Chungnam Year. On the 19th, the province announced the 2026 Chungnam Tourism Content (Photo & Video) Contest to uncover hidden attractions across the region and gather distinctive promotional material.

More than a typical contest, this project aims to rediscover Chungnam’s charm and spread it nationwide. Rather than focusing on well-known sites, organizers want to spotlight lesser-known gems and the emotional, personal moments that make travel memorable.

The theme, "Chungnam I Want to Keep to Myself," calls for photos and vertical short-form videos that capture the province’s landscapes, stories, and those special everyday moments through each visitor’s point of view. The photo category welcomes images of Chungnam’s natural scenery, cultural heritage, festivals, and daily life. The video category will accept vertical short-form videos to reflect current content consumption trends.

Submissions are open through Sept. 30. Download the required forms from the contest website, fill them out, and email the forms along with your entry. There are no eligibility restrictions—anyone nationwide can enter, either individually or as a team.

A panel of tourism and content experts will judge entries for artistic quality, creativity, and practical use. The province plans to select 43 winners in total: 26 in the photo category and 17 in the video category. The total prize pool is 27 million KRW (≈ $20,250 USD), with 11 million KRW (≈ $8,250 USD) for photos and 16 million KRW (≈ $12,000 USD) for videos.

Selected works will become key promotional assets for Chungnam tourism. Officials plan to feature them in official brochures, online channels, and at trade shows and exhibitions to strengthen the province’s tourism image. Vertical videos, in particular, will be pushed across social media and mobile platforms to attract younger travelers.

Organizers expect the contest to reveal hidden spots and boost local tourism. Entrants will have a chance to present Chungnam’s appeal through their unique perspectives, helping broaden the province’s tourism offerings.

An official said, "This contest will be an important opportunity to uncover Chungnam’s hidden charms and share them across the country. We hope these creative photo and video entries will reveal new possibilities for Chungnam tourism."

He added, "By running a vertical video category this year, we aim to build promotional content optimized for digital platforms and expand how we connect with tourists. We look forward to many entries capturing Chungnam’s special moments."
