(The CEN News / Reporter Hyunwoo Baek) CLTU, a travel agency that specializes in run-trips, has opened registration for its Athens RunTour 2.
The Athens RunTour is a 7-day, 5-night itinerary running from Friday, Nov. 6, 2026, through Thursday, Nov. 12, 2026, centered around the 43rd Athens Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 8.
Runners will start on the iconic plains that inspired the marathon and finish inside the world’s first modern Olympic stadium. This legendary route lets participants do more than race—they literally run through history. The full marathon is operated with an 8-hour cutoff, and finishers receive a medal, an official race shirt, and a runner’s kit. Local entries sold out early, but CLTU secured additional spots to offer domestic runners a chance to join.
CLTU’s RunTour blends running and travel with a lifestyle sensibility. The program features tailored conditioning led by Coach Eunju Kwon, a marathon legend and former Korean marathon record-holder, designed to help runners improve their times and reach the finish line. Participants can bond at pre-departure running classes and capture flawless post-race memories with a professional running photographer. After the marathon, travelers can choose guided visits to Athens’s must-see sites—the Acropolis and the Parthenon—or extend their journey to the iconic island of Santorini.
CLTU has been growing its global footprint, recently named an ITP (International Travel Partner) for the Sydney Marathon—one of the world’s seven major marathons—and consistently selling out run-tours linked to international races in cities like Paris and Da Nang. The second Athens RunTour attracted strong interest as soon as registration opened.
“The Athens RunTour gives runners a rare chance to experience the legendary course that inspired the marathon alongside Coach Eunju Kwon,” CLTU’s co-CEO said. “This program is for runners who want more than a personal best—it's for those who want to run with history.”
CLTU will accept first-come, first-served registrations for the Athens RunTour 2 starting Friday, April 24, 2026. Groups will range from 15 to 40 people. Full itinerary details and registration instructions are available on CLTU’s official website.
