The Public — By Oh Hong‑ji: Cheongju City is bringing back a program that refunds 30% of guests' fees in local currency at select public campgrounds and lodgings. The initiative aims to draw weekday visitors and give the local economy a boost.
The five participating sites are Chojung Haenggung, Okhwa Natural Recreation Forest, Hyundo Auto Camping Site, Munam Ecological Park Campground, and Miraeji Theme Park Campground.
If you stay Sunday through Thursday, 30% of your lodging fee will be returned as Cheongju Love gift certificates (Cheongju Pay).
Visitors to Chojung Haenggung can also enjoy a 50% discount on admission to Chojung Healing Village.
To claim the refund, sign up for Cheongju Pay ahead of time and bring the physical card. Note that some facilities close on certain days, so check availability before you go.
