Fukuoka International Airport announced on the 27th that it’s partnering with the Korea Tourism Organization to boost travel between Kyushu and South Korea. With Korea just a short hop from Kyushu, the airport hopes the collaboration will bring more Korean visitors to the region and spark greater people-to-people connections.
The official signing will take place at Fukuoka Airport on April 7 — marking the Korea Tourism Organization’s first formal agreement with a Japanese airport. Using Fukuoka as a regional hub, both organizations plan to drive demand for travel to Kyushu and to encourage more Japanese tourists to visit Korea.
As part of the agreement, they’ll launch campaigns aimed at younger travelers to promote overseas trips and boost passport applications. They also plan to expand opportunities for Koreans to visit Kyushu through inspection tours, educational travel seminars, and tourism promotions that make use of airport facilities.
