[SPOTV News—Gocheok, Shin Won-chul] Jung Woo-joo set the tone for the victory.

On May 14 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome, the Hanwha Eagles routed the Kiwoom Heroes 10–1 to take the series, 2–1. The win marked Hanwha’s third straight winning series and improved their record to 18–21 (.462).

In his second start since joining the rotation, Jung worked four innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out four and yielding one run. In the fourth, he hit a batter and, with two outs and a runner at first, a soft two-out single produced the lone run — an unlucky break for the rookie.

Jung also set a single-game career high with 73 pitches. His previous regular-season high was 54 pitches against Kiwoom on Sept. 15, 2025, and his postseason high was 67 pitches in Game 4 of the playoffs versus Samsung on Oct. 22, 2025.

The bullpen delivered a clean handoff. Park Jun-young tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings to earn his first professional win in his fifth season. Lee Min-woo followed with 1 1/3 scoreless innings, and Jo Dong-wook and Jack Cushing each threw a scoreless frame to finish the game.

Afterward, manager Kim Kyung-moon praised his pitching staff, saying Jung’s strong start laid the foundation and that Park — who notched his first win — along with the relievers that followed, did their jobs well.

The offense reached double digits again, showing punch even against Kiwoom’s ace Ahn Woo-jin. Hanwha collected three runs off Ahn over five innings — the most he’s allowed in a single game this season.

The bottom of the order delivered in a big way. No. 6 Heo In-seo had three hits, including a home run. No. 7 Kim Tae-yeon launched the go-ahead solo off Ahn. No. 8 Lee Do-yoon drove in two with a pair of doubles, and No. 9 Lee Won-seok recorded multiple hits, including a two-run insurance homer. Kim praised the hitters as aggressive and said the entire club battled hard across the three-game series.
