[iNews24 reporter Kim Sang-jin] Jangseong County in South Jeolla Province announced on May 11 that its rowing team took silver at the 2026 Asian Cup Rowing Championships, held in late April.
According to the county, Kim Mi-su and Yu Ji-hyeon, representing the Jangseong County Office, claimed the silver medal in the lightweight double sculls.
Against a field of roughly 500 athletes from 15 countries, the county's rowing squad showed it belongs on the international stage.
Acting Jangseong County Mayor Shim Woo-jeong congratulated the athletes and thanked them, saying, "We extend our congratulations and appreciation to the athletes for their strong performance at this international event. We hope they continue to give their best and repay the community's support."
