King and the Man: Why This Film Dominates Asian Box Office in 2026

[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] The film The Man Who Lives with the King held onto the No. 1 spot at the box office.

On the 1st, the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system reported that The Man Who Lives with the King drew 50,281 admissions, pushing its cumulative total to 15,782,131. Nearly two months after its release, the film continues to enjoy a sustained run.

In second place, Project Hail Mary attracted 39,862 admissions, bringing its cumulative total to 1,274,583 as it maintains steady momentum.

The newly released Japanese title that opened that day, The Song You Left Last, debuted in third with 11,414 admissions.

Rounding out the top five were animated features. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle drew 6,652, while Detective Conan: The Magician of the End of the Century drew 3,085.
