Hotels are rolling out springtime culinary and experiential promotions for families and couples in celebration of Family Month.
At Andaz Seoul Gangnam, the pastry team is unveiling a Carnation Vanilla Cake for May’s Family Month. The cake features carnation-shaped petals crafted from white chocolate and sweet red bean paste, based on a recipe developed by the executive pastry chef. It’s designed as a heartfelt seasonal option—perfect for showing appreciation on Parents’ Day and Teachers’ Day.
Texturally, the cake pairs a crisp hazelnut croustillant with a moist almond dacquoise. A Madagascar vanilla bean ganache adds a delicate aroma, and the entire cake is enveloped in a white chocolate ganache montée made with Valrhona Opalis white chocolate and Lescure cream from France.
At Jogakbo, Andaz will host a Family Month Brunch buffet on May weekends as well as on May 1, Children’s Day, and Buddha’s Birthday. The “Andaz Weekend Long Brunch” runs from noon to 3:00 p.m., and includes a welcome drink, both Western and Korean buffet stations, plus trolley service. On Children’s Day, guests can enjoy a kids’ station and DIY cupcake kits.
Lotte Hotels & Resorts is offering a spring Chinese tasting menu called “Manchun Gourmet” throughout May. It’s available at four properties—Chao Ran at Signiel Busan; Dorim at Lotte Hotel Seoul and Lotte Hotel Busan; and Dorim The Canton Table at Lotte Hotel World—and has been a recurring spring and fall promotion since 2023.
The seven- to eight-course menu highlights spring produce. It opens with a seafood salad featuring Korean melon alongside abalone and shrimp. One course stuffs stone crab shells with uni and golden threads, topped with haehwang sauce; another presents deep-fried sea bream with a spicy doubanjiang glaze.
The course also features spare ribs braised in Chinese black vinegar, lobster flavored with chashugu mushrooms and pickled garlic leaves (myeonginamul), and bamboo shoot-and-scallop fried rice scented with spring vegetables like rape blossoms. For dessert, Dorim serves its signature peach mousse cake and a selection of seasonal fruits called Simiroda. At Dorim in Lotte Hotel Seoul, diners can also experience a steamed bird’s-nest dish.
Grand Hyatt Seoul kicked off a wedding showcase called “Seasons of Eternal Love” on May 1. Rather than offering only styling tips, the showcase delivered a narrative experience that traces a relationship’s journey—from the first spark to lifelong commitment.
The event centered on the theme “Love that never fades, Timeless Love.” The Waterfall Garden’s “Blooming Romance” evokes a garden wedding where nature, water, and flowers intertwine, while the poolside “Sunshine Grace” creates an airy, open atmosphere. In the Grand Ballroom, “Splendor Whisper” captured the refined elegance of a classic wedding.
Framed by Namsan views, “White Eternity” dramatized the moment of an eternal vow. Each space was staged to function as a real wedding venue, letting couples imagine their ceremony down to the smallest detail. The showcase ran from noon to 8:00 p.m. for guests with reservations and included on-site consultations with the wedding team.
