[MyDaily = Reporter Kang Da-yun] Singer Kang Su-ji (59) has begun spring cleaning and organizing her home.

On the 20th, her YouTube channel "Kang Suji TV: Living, Loving, Learning" posted a video titled "How are you getting ready for spring?"

In the video, Kang said she hadn't organized the house at all over the past few months and that things were a mess. She realized it was time to start tidying. "I can't deep-clean everything at once, so I'll tackle it little by little, corner by corner," she said.

She noted that the recent warm sunshine makes some people feel like summer is already on the way. "How are you preparing for spring?" she asked viewers, then added that she had made several resolutions for the season. "Thinking isn't enough—you have to act first," she said.

The first task she tackled was cleaning the air conditioners. "I cleaned every unit in the house. They hadn't been cleaned for years, and when I opened them up I found mold. After giving them a thorough cleaning I felt so satisfied," she said, urging viewers to book service early. "I already had mine done about two weeks ago."

A few days later, a technician came to inspect the units. One made a ticking noise and another had a single drip. "They fixed everything quickly. Having an air conditioner cleaned and inspected made me really happy," she said.

Kang also addressed sorting winter clothes and bedding. "My closet shelves are piled with winter sweaters; it's overwhelming," she said. She recommended sending heavy items to the dry cleaner, warning that leaving them stored through the summer can cause mold. She urged people to sort garments, remove what they won't wear, and either launder or dry-clean the winter pieces that are still out.

She advised stuffing worn boots with folded newspaper—though she acknowledged few homes still get newspapers—and suggested using dried lavender leaves or flowers to freshen shoes. "Don't forget to get your bedding ready too. Mornings are still a bit chilly, but it's time to start putting things away," she said.

Next on her list was mold prevention. She warned that even a little mold in places like the shower can multiply during the summer monsoon season, so it's best to clean those areas now. "I wasn't this thorough before, but this year I'm tackling everything with a fresh mindset so I can welcome spring and summer with a clean home," she said.

Kang also plans to have an electrical inspection. "My nieces and nephews and my younger brother's family—five people—are coming in June. They visit about every two years and stay for a month, which increases electricity use. This year I'll dust the outlets and check the circuit breaker box," she explained.

She recalled a power outage last year and said it made her nervous. "It was probably caused by an overload, so I want to inspect that. With induction stoves and other appliances drawing power, it's important to check before the rainy season," she added.

She asked viewers if they'd finished their spring preparations. "I started a little early, but with the weather warming up, it didn't feel too soon," she said. She also mentioned that when she booked the AC inspection early, the company offered a discount. "That was a pleasant surprise. Now the busy season is really starting."

Finally, Kang said she still plans to clean her top-loading washing machine. "Won't that feel great? I also need to pull out the fans and clean them. There's so much to do," she said, smiling. She said she made the video to encourage viewers to take spring chores one step at a time so they can enjoy a comfortable spring and summer.

Meanwhile, Kang married comedian Kim Guk-jin (61) in 2018.
