By Kim Mi-hee, The Public — As May, a month packed with family holidays, begins and events get underway, Korail Distribution is rolling out its own promotions.

Korail Distribution will run a month-long promotion at 'Storyway' convenience stores in major train stations nationwide under the theme "A Healing May: For Family and Me."

The promotion expands benefits so people can enjoy them alone or with family, reflecting May's cluster of holidays — including Children's Day, Parents' Day and Teacher's Day.

On May 1, International Workers' Day, Storyway stores at major stations will offer a limited number of 'Stress Care: Rest' drinks for 100 KRW (approximately $0.08). Korail says the event is intended to cheer on rail passengers and frontline workers.

Although most workers have the day off on May 1, rail services continue to run. Train crews, station staff and maintenance workers cover shifts to keep operations going, and Korail frames the giveaway as a gesture of support for those employees.

On Children's Day, May 5, Storyway shops inside stations in Seoul, Busan and other cities will give customers who bring a preschool child a TiniPing keychain with a minimum qualifying purchase.

Also, the rail-goods specialty shop 'Korea Train Mates' will stock a range of train-themed merchandise.
