Incheon International Airport celebrated its 25th anniversary and announced an ambitious target: reaching 100 million passengers a year.

Incheon International Airport Corporation held a ceremony yesterday (the 27th) to mark the milestone. The company said the airport has risen to become the world’s third-busiest, 25 years after its first flight in March 2001.

Last year, the airport handled about 74.07 million international passengers and roughly 2.95 million metric tons of international cargo. Transit passengers also surpassed 8 million, reinforcing Incheon’s role as a key Northeast Asian transfer hub.

Kim Beom-ho, acting president of Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, \"We will continue to make travel more convenient for the public as the country's gateway and to contribute to the growth of Korea's aviation industry.\"
