Jin Air (CEO Park Byung-ryul) celebrated the launch of new routes to Miyakojima and Hong Kong with inaugural ceremonies on April 2 at Gimhae International Airport and Jeju International Airport, and has begun full operations.

Jin Air staff turned out for the ceremonies, presenting bouquets to the flight and cabin crew boarding the inaugural flights, taking commemorative photos, and reaffirming their commitment to safe operations.

Jin Air will operate the Busan–Miyakojima route exclusively, with two weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays. The service departs Gimhae Airport at 2:45 p.m. and arrives at 5:00 p.m. local time.

Previously, travelers bound for Miyakojima typically had to connect through Okinawa. The new nonstop route is expected to make travel much easier for people in the Yeongnam region in southeastern Korea.

The Jeju–Hong Kong route departs Jeju Airport daily at 9:30 p.m. From Hong Kong, the flight leaves at 2:00 a.m. local time the following day and arrives in Jeju at 6:05 a.m.

Jin Air expects this launch to both attract visitors from Hong Kong and meet demand from Jeju residents who want to head off on a trip right after work.

Tickets are available through Jin Air’s website, mobile app/web, and the customer service center. Passengers on these new routes receive a complimentary checked baggage allowance of 15 kg.

A Jin Air representative said, "By launching these new routes from Busan and Jeju, we will offer local residents more diverse and convenient air links. We will continue to leverage our unique route competitiveness to revitalize regional hub airports and contribute to the development of the tourism industry."
