ENHYPEN member Heeseung has unexpectedly announced his departure from the group.
Belift Lab said on the 10th that ENHYPEN will continue as a six-member group — Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki — and that Heeseung will pursue a solo career.
In a message to fans on global platform Weverse, Belift Lab said the company and the group have been discussing ENHYPEN’s future direction and next goals. During those discussions, they determined that Heeseung’s musical aims were clear and agreed to respect his decision, the company said.
Heeseung opened his statement by acknowledging, “Many ENGENE will be surprised by this news, and I know many of you will have questions about the sudden announcement.” He reflected, “The past six years have been filled with moments so overwhelming and precious I can’t fully put them into words.”
Heeseung continued, “I want to remain someone who supports ENHYPEN above all else. After long consideration, I made the difficult decision to follow the direction proposed by the company so I can show ENGENE a better version of myself.” He added that he understands fans’ worries and pledged, “I’ll work hard to prepare and meet you again as soon as possible.”
Full statement from Heeseung
Hello, this is Heeseung.
First, I know many ENGENE will be shocked to hear this news, and that a sudden announcement will leave many of you with questions.
I wanted to speak to ENGENE directly.
The past six years have been filled with moments so overwhelming and precious I can’t fully describe them in words.
Thanks to my members, who shared countless emotions with me, and to ENGENE, who always filled the gaps left behind, I was able to take steps toward a dream that once felt out of reach.
Those times will remain some of the brightest moments of my life.
I will never forget them, and I want to continue being someone who supports ENHYPEN more than anyone else.
Over a long period, I shared the work I’d been doing with the company and discussed at length with many people how best to present it to you.
After much consideration, I decided to follow the direction proposed by the company so I can approach ENGENE with a better version of myself.
As you know, I have continued personal projects and poured a lot of time into things I hoped to show ENGENE.
There is so much I want to show you, but I also didn’t want to put only my own desires ahead within the team.
I know your worries and the many conversations fans have had. I will work hard to prepare so I can see you again soon.
My wish to show a better self is sincere.
I feel sorry because I know how surprised and worried ENGENE must be — you’ve always given me endless love and affection despite my shortcomings.
I carry that care and attention in my heart.
I will remember the great love ENGENE has given me and keep moving forward.
ENGENE!
Thank you, and I love you.
