AB6IX to Pause Activities: What’s Next for the K-Pop Sensation After Their Final Concert?

[TV Daily reporter Kim Ji-ha] K-pop quartet AB6IX will temporarily suspend group activities after concluding their May concerts, the group's label said.

Brand New Music announced on the 10th via its official channels that the group's exclusive contract with the agency, signed at their debut on May 22, 2019, is set to expire on May 25.

After extensive discussions with the members, the agency said AB6IX will take a temporary hiatus following the 2026 AB6IX CONCERT '6IX TO SEVEN,' scheduled for May 23 and 24.

Brand New Music added that it is conducting in-depth talks with the members about contract renewals and will fully respect and support whatever decisions the members make as they face this new chapter.

AB6IX is a four-member group made up of Lee Dae-hwi and Park Woo-jin—both former members of project group Wanna One—alongside Kim Dong-hyun and Jeon Woong. The group debuted in May 2019 and released their third full-length album, SEVEN : CRIMSON HORIZON, last month — their first in five years.

First, we would like to sincerely thank the fans who have loved and supported AB6IX over the past seven years.

The exclusive contract between AB6IX and our company, which has been in place since their debut on May 22, 2019, will expire on May 25. Accordingly, after thorough discussions with the members, AB6IX will take a temporary break following the 2026 AB6IX CONCERT '6IX TO SEVEN,' to be held on May 23 and 24.

We are currently holding in-depth discussions with the members regarding contract renewals, and we will fully respect and support the members' choices as they stand at a new starting point.

As Brand New Music's first idol group, AB6IX has been a meaningful team that introduced new musical directions and possibilities for our company. Through the members' journeys from MXM and Wanna One to AB6IX, they have continued to grow in their respective roles and have solidified their positions as artists. Through various creative efforts, they have forged a distinctive identity and have consistently aimed to reach fans with sincere music and performances.

We will do our best to fully support the successful completion of all scheduled activities through May, including the 2026 AB6IX CONCERT '6IX TO SEVEN.'
