[MyDaily = Kang Dayun] MyDaily reports that actor Lee Sang‑bo has died suddenly. The social media account he maintained is currently showing no posts.
On March 27, MyDaily confirmed Lee’s wake has been set up in Room 3 at Pyeongtaek Central Funeral Hall in Gyeonggi Province. He was 44.
Funeral rites are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on March 29. He will be laid to rest at Cheonan Memorial Park and the Pyeongtaek Municipal Memorial Hall.
Earlier that day, the Korea Herald reported that Lee was found dead on March 26. Police, who responded to a family report, are investigating the exact circumstances of his death.
Meanwhile, his personal social media page currently displays no posts. He had used the account to share updates and photos and to interact with followers in the comments. The profile photo has been removed, and both the post and following counts now read zero.
Born in 1981, Lee made his acting debut in 2006 in the drama "The Invisible Man: Choi Jang‑su" and appeared in series such as "The Golden Age of Daughters‑in‑Law," "Bad Love" and "Miss Monte Cristo." He also appeared on the big screen in films including "Kisarazu Cat’s Eye: World Series," "Secretly, Greatly" and "Mephisto."
In 2022, police briefly detained Lee on suspicion of drug use after a field reagent test returned a presumptive positive for morphine. Some outlets reported he had admitted to the charge during questioning; he denied that, saying the result was caused by prescribed antidepressant medication. A follow‑up forensic analysis by the National Forensic Service found no illegal drug traces, and prosecutors dropped the case without indictment about 20 days later.
The following year he returned to television as a lead in the drama "Elegant Empire." Last year he signed with a new agency and was reportedly reviewing potential projects.
