Pyeongtaek Police Station said Lee’s family discovered him at his Pyeongtaek home at about 12:40 p.m. and notified authorities.

Police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

Officials said there were no signs of foul play.

Born in 1981, Lee made his acting debut in 2006 with KBS2’s drama Invisible Man, Choi Jang-soo. He later appeared in KBS2’s The Heyday of the Daughter‑in‑Law, JTBC’s Private Lives, and KBS2’s Miss Monte Cristo and Elegant Empire, building a reputation for steady, dependable performances.

He also broadened his range with film roles, including an appearance in Mephisto.

In 2022, Lee faced allegations of illegal drug use; authorities later concluded the matter was a misunderstanding tied to prescribed antidepressant medication and cleared him. Lee repeatedly denied using illegal drugs and subsequently returned to acting.
