Kakao Games is accepting applications for its 2026 assistive-device program for gamers with disabilities, "Play Buddy Together."

Kakao Games will accept applications from people with physical or brain-related disabilities through May 22. The company plans to select 35 recipients. Previously focused on the Seoul metropolitan area, the program has been expanded nationwide this year to help remove physical and environmental barriers and allow more people to take part in gaming culture.

Applicants who pass an initial document screening will be invited to consultations and assessments with assistive-technology specialists to evaluate device suitability and usability before final selection. Application forms and related documents are available on the websites of the Gyeonggi Rehabilitation Engineering Service Research Support Center and the Beautiful Foundation.

The devices provided through the program include special keyboards (single-handed, macro-enabled, and large-key models); specialized mice (head-controlled, eye-tracking systems, one-handed mice, and quadsticks); game controllers and alternative input devices (arcade sticks, Proteus, G-Pad controllers, Audio Radar, etc.); switches and accessories (handle-style joysticks, button-based arcade sticks, one-handed controllers, and more); posture-related aids (height-adjustable desks and wheelchair-compatible desks); and console-compatible gear (Flex, MS and Xbox controllers; Sony Access; etc.). If additional modifications are required, recipients can receive expert support through the National Rehabilitation Center's Open Platform for Assistive Devices.
