Cherry blossoms and canola blooms against a cobalt sea make for a dreamy coastal drive — Wangji Cherry Blossom Road, Darangi Village and other top spots are about to burst into bloom
Namhae County is rolling out its 'Namhae, Come Spring?' campaign to get spring visitors excited. With cherry blossoms and canola fields expected to peak at spots like Namhae Bridge and Wangji Cherry Blossom Road in March and April, the county is busy preparing to welcome tourists who want to savor the season.
This year's showstopper is Wangji Cherry Blossom Road in Seolcheon-myeon. Voted one of Korea's '100 Most Beautiful Roads,' the coastal route becomes an endless tunnel of cherry trees, while golden canola fields below contrast with the deep-blue sea like a living watercolor. It’s a top pick for romantics and road-trippers — roll down the windows and let the petals drift like floral confetti.
Around Namhae Bridge (Seolcheon-myeon area), cherry trees burst into bloom, creating a dramatic tableau where the imposing red bridge meets clouds of white blossoms. The scene is breathtaking by day, and at night the illuminated bridge and blossoms create a magical, atmospheric display.
Gacheon Darangi Village, Namhae's signature attraction, is another can't-miss. Terraced rice paddies carpeted in canola flowers form an otherworldly spring backdrop of layered hills and sea — the perfect setting for an unforgettable photo.
In Sangju-myeon, Dumo Paradarangs — a themed park that celebrates traditional terraced paddies — will reopen its café in the second week of March and is ready to welcome visitors with fresh spring vibes. Across the county, blossom spots are sprinkled like hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Lee Yeon-ju, director of the Tourism Promotion Division, said, "Spring in Namhae is the most romantic season — it's where the sea and flowers meet. This spring, bring your family or your partner, shout 'Namhae, Come Spring?' and make unforgettable memories at Namhae, the nation's go-to spot for rest and relaxation."
She added that the Flowering Namhae festival will take place at Seolcheon Noryang Chungnyeolsa on April 4–5, inviting many visitors to step away from daily life and enjoy a time of healing and rest.
