On Arbor Day, April 5, clear, warm spring weather drew crowds to Gwangju and South Jeolla Province as people headed out to soak up the season.

At Uchi Park in Buk-gu, Gwangju, sunshine, a fresh breeze, and blooming cherry trees welcomed visitors that afternoon.

Strollers and photographers were constantly snapping photos of the blossoms with the reservoir as a picture-perfect backdrop, trying to capture the feel of spring.

Families with kids and couples making memories were scattered throughout the park.

Children enjoyed the zoo, and lines formed for the rides in Family Land.

Ms. Park, 46, said, "We came to the park to make memories with our children. Between the scenery and the rides, we made some really nice memories."

People also flocked to Seryangji, a scenic reservoir in Dogok-myeon, Hwasun, South Jeolla, known for its beautiful views.

On early spring mornings when the mountain cherry blossoms bloom, mist rises off the water. Once sunlight hits, the reflection of the blossoms on the lake creates a stunning scene.

Visitor numbers surge during the mountain cherry blossom season, and the spot is famous as a group photo destination for photography clubs. Each year, more than 1,000 photography enthusiasts from across the country make group trips there.

Cars driving around the fully bloomed Seryangji slowed so drivers and passengers could snap photos of the scenery.

Ms. Lee, 54, who came from Gwangju, said, "The profuse cherry blossoms are truly mesmerizing. My family and I enjoyed ourselves amid the beautiful scenery."
