Incheon’s new Skywalk at Su-bong Park in Michuhol District has quickly become the city’s latest hotspot — drawing more than 80,000 visitors in just a month.

The district reported on May 5 that the main gate recorded 80,593 visitors between the Skywalk’s opening on March 19 and April 20. That’s a 237% increase from 34,063 visitors during the same period last year.

Perched on the steep slopes of Subongsan, the Skywalk juts out over the park to serve up sweeping, panoramic views — from downtown Incheon all the way to the Yellow Sea.

It’s become a magnet for families, couples and casual walkers. Social media and online communities have labeled it a must-visit in Incheon and a top spot for nighttime views, helping attendance more than double within a month.

Beyond the Skywalk, Su-bong Park offers a children’s playground, a splash pad, a memorial honoring decorated veterans and an artificial waterfall — little extras that encourage visitors to linger.

To manage the crowds, the district has increased enforcement against illegal activity and tightened traffic controls. Officials are also repairing wooden fences and tending flowerbeds to keep the park safe and welcoming for residents and guests.

Officials are also fast-tracking upgrades to boost nighttime tourism. Additional electrical work is underway to improve evening visits, and plans call for linking the Skywalk with the park’s Byeolmaru area to develop a go-to urban nightscape.

An official from the district said, “The Skywalk gives residents a new place to relax and enjoy, and it has amplified Su-bong Park’s appeal.” They added, “We will continue to develop it into a premier attraction people want to visit both day and night.”
