Hadong County will run a real-time monitoring service from March 10 through April 6 so locals and visitors can enjoy the cherry blossoms at their peak without guessing when to visit.

Every March and April, people across the country call asking when the Sipri (Ten‑ri) Cherry Blossom Road in Hadong will bloom, but it’s been hard to know the exact status without going there in person.

To fix that, the county launched the live bloom service in 2018 to spare visitors the uncertainty and to showcase the blossoms in a more vivid, up‑close way.

IoT systems are set up at three spots, including Hwagae Market and the Sipri Cherry Blossom Road. The setup lets people check bloom conditions in real time on both computers and mobile devices, making planning a visit much easier.

Access the live cherry blossom feed from the county website’s main page. It shows current bloom status and also maps parking lots and restroom locations around the Hwagae area.

When buds start to open, viewers can switch to close‑up views to see the blossoms in detail, and the county provides tailored long‑range feeds timed to the flowering schedule for broader scenic views.

A county official said, “This service lets people see Hadong’s cherry blossoms from anywhere. We hope it raises awareness of Hadong’s beauty and brings more visitors to the area.”
