“Explore Guri—and score a cute souvenir!”

Guri City is rolling out a hands-on tourism program called the Wa! Guri 3GO Tour that links sightseeing with supporting local businesses.

The city announced on the 1st that the two-day event will be held on the 11th and 12th.

Featuring Guri’s mascot, Waguri, the program pairs visits to must-see attractions with stops at neighborhood shops and cafés for a full local experience.

It follows a simple "3GO" idea: see the sights, taste local flavors, and get rewarded.

Participants can visit highlights like Jangja Lake Park and Donggureung, post verification photos to social media, enjoy Guri’s restaurants, cafés, and stores, and then drop by the event booth at Jangja Lake Park for verification and a souvenir.

Rewards are tiered based on how much you spend at participating local businesses.

Spend at least 30,000 KRW (about $22.50) and receive a Waguri keychain (choose one of two designs). Spend 50,000 KRW (about $37.50) or more and get a Waguri face cushion. Souvenirs are available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be distributed until supplies run out.

Officials say the participatory program is designed to draw both residents and visitors and to give a meaningful boost to the local economy.

A city representative said, “The Guri 3GO Tour is a participatory tourism model that encourages people to enjoy and spend in the area. We expect Waguri-themed events and merchandise to increase on-site participation and provide real support to local businesses.”
