The 11th Cheonan Buk-myeon Wirye Cherry Blossom Festival will be held for two days, on the 11th and 12th, in the Cheonan City Buk-myeon Yongam-ri area.
Stretching roughly 13.5 km (about 8.4 miles) from Yeonchun-ri to Unyong-ri, the cherry blossom road forms a picturesque tunnel of trees along both sides of the roadway. It’s a local must-see—ideal for scenic drives, relaxed walks, and even hikes that follow the dedicated bicycle path.
Because bloom times vary with elevation, the blossoms peak in stages. Recommended bloom dates are: Yeonchun-ri to Eunseok Elementary School — the 11th; Eunseok Elementary School to Yongam-ri — the 12th; Maesong-ri to Buk-myeon Post Office — the 14th; Buk-myeon Administrative Welfare Center to Sadam-ri — the 15th; Yanggok-ri to Jeongok-ri — the 15th; and Unyong-ri District 1 to Unyong-ri District 2 — the 17th. That sequence should let visitors enjoy the cherry blossoms for about ten days.
The riverbank fields around Unyong-ri offer camping and car-camping spots and are drawing attention as stay-focused tourism destinations where visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms alongside natural scenery. At night, illuminated trees and decked pathways create an inviting space for evening strolls and standout photo ops.
Jin Sugon, chairman of the Cheonan Wirye Cherry Blossom Festival organizing committee, said, “We hope many citizens visit and enjoy Buk-myeon’s pride—the cherry blossom road that stretches over a 15 km (about 9.3-mile) section—and participate in the various programs.”
