[iNews24 Reporter Ye-jin Jeong] To celebrate April Fools’ Day on April 1, the Busan Tourism Organization is rolling out a playful promotion for Busan City Tour riders titled “Busan City Tour Will Fool You Properly!”
The event is designed to offer visitors a fresh, fun experience—shifting tourists from passive observers to the stars of the show with more participatory content.
It taps into the “fun-sumer” (Fun+Consumer) trend, blending entertainment with value so riders get both laughs and perks.

On the day of the event, at the Busan Station City Tour boarding area, staff will play along: if an adult cheerfully tells the ticket seller, “I’m an elementary school student,” they’ll be happily sold a child fare.
There’s also a surprise stunt billed as “We’ll give you the City Tour’s double-decker bus.”
Rather than handing over an actual vehicle, visitors will receive a charming two-decker paper toy (a paper model), a playful twist meant to spark small moments of joy.
The April Fools’ activities are aimed at passengers on the City Tour’s loop route, letting them enjoy Busan’s spring-flower hotspots while scoring a few extra perks.
Riders will visit, in order: Oryukdo Sunrise Park—famous for its swathes of yellow daffodils; Gwangalli Beach and the Samik Beach area in Namcheon-dong, known for a cherry blossom tunnel; Taejongdae’s cherry blossom scenery viewed from the Danubi train; and the Dongsam Haesucheon cherry blossom path near the National Maritime Museum.
The April Fools’ event is available only to loop-route Busan City Tour riders and participation is limited to those who board on site.
A Busan Tourism Organization official said, “Tourism shouldn’t just be about getting to a destination—the journey itself should be fun. We hope this small April Fools’ surprise becomes a delightful memory for the domestic and international visitors who come to Busan.”
