[Point Economy] Jungang Park in Busan is planning a community-focused spring event timed to the peak bloom of its double-flowered cherry trees.
Busan Facilities Corporation announced on the 20th that it will hold \"Jungang Park Double-Cherry Blossom Picnic: Spring This Year\" on the 25th from noon to 5 p.m. at Jungang Park's 4.19 Square and the double-cherry-blossom hill area.
The event centers on busking performances by young musicians and offers hands-on activities like cherry-blossom–themed keyring workshops and DIY photo prop stations. The schedule is set up so visitors can wander the park and soak up spring's charm.
The path that starts at the April 19 Revolution Victims' Memorial Tower is a signature spot lined with double cherry trees. At peak bloom, clouds of pink petals frame views of the North Port, making it a favorite backdrop for photos.
Lee Seong-rim, chairperson of the Busan Facilities Corporation, called the double-cherry-blossom square and walkway \"one of Busan's go-to spring destinations\" and encouraged families to enjoy a cultural spring picnic together.
The corporation will operate an on-site safety control center throughout April to manage the expected influx of visitors. In cooperation with the district office and police, it will step up enforcement against illegal parking and provide traffic guidance. Because parking is limited, visitors are encouraged to use public transportation. In case of rain, the event may be scaled down or postponed.
