Spring has arrived — here are fresh spots in Gyeonggi Province to explore this season.

▶ Imjin River Nature Center (Yeoncheon)

The Imjin River Nature Center in Yeoncheon opened last December and offers a concise, engaging look at the area's geology and ecosystems. It’s a multi-purpose exhibition space that brings to life landscapes shaped by past volcanic activity and the plants and animals that inhabit them.

Inside, you'll find a permanent exhibition hall, a seminar room, a media screening room, a hands-on activity space, a café, and an observation deck. The permanent exhibition walks visitors through Yeoncheon’s cultural, ecological, and peace-related significance, while the media room uses videos to explain how the geology formed — together they make the region easy to understand through varied, visitor-friendly materials. The café, with its beautiful outlook, has already become a local hotspot.

Stepping outside, the surrounding scenery is another highlight: from the Dongiri stone burial mounds to the Imjin River’s columnar basalt cliffs, Yeoncheon's attractions unfold across the landscape. Birdwatchers can spot a variety of waterfowl and other species that live along the river, making the center an ideal place to experience nature and ecology up close.

▶ Jigwan Seoga (Suwon)

On the first floor of Suwon City's Lifelong Learning Center, a bookstore-style cultural complex called Jigwan Seoga offers residents a relaxed place to unwind. Created through a partnership between Suwon City and SK Chemicals, this space is a great example of repurposing an educational facility into a cultural hub.

Jigwan Seoga features varied seating on each floor: the first floor has cozy sofas for long reads, while the second floor offers bar tables and lounge chairs. Every seat includes an electrical outlet, so it’s perfect for working, studying, or simply lingering with a book and a drink.

If you want to end the day with a fragrant cup of coffee and a favorite book, we recommend stopping by Jigwan Seoga.
