[iNews24 Reporter Park Jong-su] Imsil County in North Jeolla Province will host the inaugural 2026 Imsil N Rose Festival from May 28–31. Over the four-day event, roughly 20,000 pyeong of land (about 711,650 sq ft / 16.3 acres) will be transformed into a spectacular sea of roses.

Held in the rose garden at Imsil Cheese Theme Park, this is the county’s first festival centered entirely on roses. When the blooms hit their stride, thousands of roses set against the park’s exotic backdrop promise to make this spring’s most show-stopping flower event.

The festival’s main stage—the Imsil Cheese Theme Park rose garden—spans about 65,000 m² (roughly 699,655 sq ft / 16.1 acres) and features around 150 varieties with some 22,000 European-style rose bushes planted throughout.

By late May, tens of thousands of multi-colored roses will be at their peak, creating sweeping vistas that surprise around every corner.

With its year-round rose beds and European-style landscaping, the Cheese Theme Park rose garden feels like a slice of Europe. Every angle becomes a picture-perfect moment, making it an ideal destination for dreamy photos.

Organizers have also planted hydrangeas and a variety of seasonal flowers, and added mood-setting sculptures and photo zones so visitors will want to stay and soak it all in.

There’s plenty to see and do. Interactive programs like the Rose Parade—a rose-themed street procession—pop-up Rose Street Art Shows, and Imsil N Proposal Day, where couples and families can share special moments, will keep the festival buzzing.

Kids are covered too, with Secret Jouju and Tobot pop-up stores and a hands-on Rose Village offering activities for all ages. It’s built to be a multi-generational celebration.

The performance lineup is a highlight. On May 29, the festival’s second day, popular singers Lee Chan-won, Son Tae-jin, Jeon Yu-jin, Kim Da-hyun, and Shin Yu will heat up the opening concert. On May 30, musical stars Kim So-hyun and Son Jun-ho will join an orchestra for the Rose Concert—a moving performance set amid the blooms.

The festival will also stage a live radio broadcast featuring artists such as Sim Soo-bong—known as the Singer of a Million Roses—Beomjin, and Punch, adding another layer of excitement.

Food lovers will have plenty to explore. In addition to favorites like the premium Korean beef pavilion, local food hall, and cheese fair, limited-edition treats such as rose ice cream and rose bread will be available. Imsil N Beer Factory will serve rose-themed craft beers, creating a full sensory dining experience.

Shim Min, head of Imsil County, said, "The Imsil N Rose Festival marks the first step in a new leap for Imsil tourism by combining stunning rose scenery with distinctive programming. We’ll make thorough preparations so this vibrant festival gives visitors unforgettable spring memories."
